Bern, Jennifer and Maria, our sincere sympathy on the untimely death of Charlie. Charlie was one of life’s gentlemen. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and nothing was ever too much trouble. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bern Jennifer Maria and little Roisín, there are no words that will take away your sadness but so many that can describe Charlie. Charlie was such a light in the lives of so many. As a child a visit to Tipperary from my cool Dublin cousin was always a highlight and throughout my life I was always happy see his smile and enjoy his enthusiasm for life. His wonderful talents will always live on.

Charlie was a fellow woodturner, but outside of that Charlie was a good friend to everyone. His humour and joviality always left you with a smile. I know Charlies family and friends have done so much for him throughout his illness and they have been an inspiration to see how hard they worked to make Charlie comfortable. The woodturning community has lost a very talented man, and as the president of the Irish Woodturners Guild, an invaluable resource that will never be equalled with his dedication and passion. Rest in peace my friend, it was an honour to know you.

I am so sorry to learn of Charlie’s passing. Charlie was a very good friend to my father, Ken. Charlie was “our rock” and a huge comfort to us when Dad passed and I wish we could be of more help to you Bern and your family during this very sad time. You are all very much in my thoughts. Charlie was an absolute gentleman with a great sense of humour. I will miss his warm hug. We are all the richer for having Charlie in our lives. I hope he and Dad are Woodturning, planning the next project and laughing together again up there!

A wonderful entertainer-his sing songs were legendary he just loved the craic and term. He was full of divilment and mischief always good natured with a twinkle in his eye. We miss him dearly.
