Charlie Toal

Sincere condolences to Andrew, Vera and the Toal family. I only learned of Charlie's today at Mass in Guardian Angels. Charlie was a very good neighbour in Proby Square, especially to my late mother. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to Charlies family. He was a grade A gentleman. I worked on the lounge in Hermitage in the 80's and Charlies table was sought after as he was a very generous tipper and just a lovely person to serve! He would on most club social occasions sing a song with his fabulous baritone voice. I remember him singing White Christmas better than Bing himself. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that I have just learnt of Charlies Passing, to late to attend his funeral mass.
Charlie was a great friend of my dad, Michael , also a former captain of Hermitage.
I ended up playing a lot of golf with him, but only when they needed a 4th player.
He was one of life's great gentleman, great company, and always a smile when we met even in the latter years.

so sorry to read of Charlies death. We were next door neighbours in Hollyville Lawn when we got married in 1967. Charlie had a great record collection which we listened to regularly. Sincere condolences to Andrew and Elaine.

So many wonderful memories of Charlie over the years, as one of the oldest friends of my late husband Vincent Nolan; one of life's true gentleman and a wonderful, warm person. Charlie had a beautiful singing voice, and especially loved songs from Bing Crosby (whom he was delighted to meet in person at the Curragh Races). He will be dearly missed as he now joins his beloved Patricia in heaven, and our family extends heartfelt sympathies to Andrew and Elaine and their families. May he rest in peace.

Charlie was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of knowing. In his youth he lived in Smithboro and spent a lot of time in Clones. I remember his great collection of Bing Crosby records. I think he had every single song that Bing recorded. Through the years we met from time to time. It was always a pleasure having
a relaxed conversation with a genuinely good friend.
