My family had the privilege of knowing and working with Chas for many years. My father and he were very close friends and he was held in the highest regard by all the Forde family.

He was an iconic figure in the fishing fraternity of the Cashen. Not only was he a great fisherman but he was also a man of great faith and friend to all in the community. He was the heartbeat of the Cashen.

During my visits home to Ballyduff I always called to see, and spend special time with Chas and Chrissie.

Jesus was loved and surrounded by fishermen and he will have reserved a special place for Chas on his crew.

May he rest in peace.
