Dear Anne,Marie, Maurice and Gerard. I’m so sad for you all and know that you will miss your lovely sister every day. Chris was very unlucky with her health but very lucky to be surrounded with such love, care, commitment and dedication by a truly wonderful family. My thoughts are with you all.

I was very sad to hear the news of Chris passing. My condolences to Maurice, Marie, Anne, Gerard and all her relatives and friends. I worked in CERT when Chris was in HR, she was an unique person and always had time for a chat. Chris had a great sense of humour, she was thoughtful and had a genuine interest in the people she worked with. Rest in peace Chris.

My heartfelt condolences to Chris’s family and many close friends. She was a great leader, mentor and true genuine friend. Chris was an inspiration to all who knew her and those who worked with her in LGMA. We enjoyed many laughs and we have lots of fun stories to remember her by. I haven’t laid eyes on Christina Gavigan since she left CERT, where she was Personnel Officer, a challenging role in any organisation, so her life’s adventure since then, apart from knowing where she subsequently applied her qualifications, experience and career skills, is a blank canvas to me.

I remember Chris’s sociable nature, her laugh and her sense of fun, her slight mischievous side, the care with which she presented herself, in an era of greater formality in office attire, and, most strikingly, the courage she showed in dealing with illness. I note the warmth of the condolences logged by her later colleagues, with whom she clearly enjoyed good working and personal relationships.

When our paths no longer cross with someone, we’re denied seeing the fruits of the ongoing personal development path everyone should be on, something that Chris, given her career specialism, would have been particularly attuned to, both for herself and for others. May the review of her life, here and in the celestial, be a gentle one.

She was a wonderful lady to work with and was committed to everything that enhanced the wellbeing and education of local authority staff. I’m so very sorry to hear of the very sad passing of Chris.
From the moment I met Chris almost 20 years ago I had so much admiration for her. She took me under her wing when I started work in the LGMA and I learned so much from her that I am forever grateful for.
