I was so sorry to hear of the death of Chris. My heart goes out to you and your family. My memory of Chris is as a boy in Faithlegg National School, one of the "big boys" in my eyes, full of mischief and fun. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

By some weird twist of faith in Waterpark College our class were in the same prefabs for few years. And as a consequence we all pretty much sat in the same desks for years. I can still see where he sat. Hogging heat by the electric radiator at the back. So sad to hear this news that another class mate has gone.

Our sincere condolences to Chris's extended family at this time.
Chris was a true old school character and even those who only knew him for a short period have a story to tell about him. Beneath the cheeky grin and laugh there was also an in depth intellect and caring nature that allowed him to be the brilliant nurse that he was.
While not taking himself too seriously he was as comfortable engaging in the nonsense nurse talk on a night out as he was advocating for those under his care. I along with a lot of us worked with him closely over the years and witnessed first hand his ability to deal with difficult situations while always knowing he had your back. The respect and esteem he was held in by his colleagues has been evident in the faces and emotions of us all over the last few days. I know he would have been proud of how we have and will continue to be there to support each other in the coming difficult weeks.
He was not afraid at any given opportunity to tell us about his pride in the personal or sporting achievements of his kids and there will never be any doubt of the immense father and family man he was.
The light may shine a little duller this week but you will live on in the many stories and funny anecdotes told long into the future. Ar dheist Dé go raibh a ainm old friend.

My deepest sympathy Maria, Olivia, Jack, Amy, Katie, the Jones and Elliott families. I only heard of his passing today and even though I had not seen him for so long I can feel the loss as if in touch daily, that was the type of person he was. He will be missed and remembered always.
