To my great friend Myles and his sister Mary: I'm very sorry I can't join you in your time of sorrow, but I'll be thinking of you and your Mam, Chris. She was a very lovely, gentle lady.

I particularly remember a couple of nights staying in her house and we all watched the long drama of Ireland losing a penalty shoot-out to Spain in the 2002 World Cup. A fun time despite the result!

So saddened to hear of Chrissie’s passing.
Chrissie is in many of my earliest childhood memories growing up in Hazelwood.
From visiting her corner shop which she ran for many years, to the lifts to school in her Morris Minor and as our trusty stage manager for our school concerts.
In more recent years, I had the privilege of singing along with her in the church choir. She was always smiling and jolly and loved to tell a yarn.

My sincere sympathies to Myles and Mary on the loss of a wonderful mother, to her grandchildren who she loved to talk about and to her wider family and friends on the loss of an amazing lady.

Sleep well Chrissie. You have earned your rest.
