Christine you spoke for all of us thank you, now rest in peace i will keep you in my prayers.
To my dearest friend and fellow survivor/co founder of the Aislinn Centre Christine I am missing a chunk of my heart. I have lost a soul mate, a champion for all survivors, a campaigner, the most selfless person I have ever met. You had no pretensions whatsoever and hated all of the accolades. All you wanted to do was to share them with fellow survivors. We were friends for a long time. We know each other inside out I will miss you forever no one can ever take your palace. I was privileged to have you as my best friend. I will continue your journey and continue the campaign. It is only the next chapter and your memory will live on as long as I have life in me. We were a special team Christine gone but never forgotten. May you Rest in Peace forever your fight is finally over may you dance now with all of the Holy Angels. Love as always your buddy Carmel McDonnell-Byrne forever in my heart and thank you for being my friend.
Rest In peace Christine thank you for all u have done for the children of Ireland xxx
So deeply sorry on the death of Christine. I never met her but admired her greatly from afar. She was the voice of so many children who were brutalised by religious orders. How lucky Irish people are to have had this lady speak up against all the odds and criticism.

RIP Christine - I remember reading the papers at 13 years of age when you first brought to light the suffering experienced in the Goldenbridge Scandal. Thank God you would not be silenced. You were an inspirational woman to a lot people. Sleep well with the Angels.
I didn't know Christine Buckley and never had the privilege of meeting her but I've always admired her dignity, her courage and her compassion since I first heard her on the Gay Byrne show all those year ago. When the history of this Banana Republic is written for the last 20 years or so, she will go down as a true national hero and an example to us all for uncovering the shocking institutional child abuse that went on for so long perpetrated by so called men and women of the cloth and aided and abetted by faceless officials and politicians, may they hang their heads in shame. Christine demonstrated the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, may she rest in peace.
our deepest sympathy to Donal and all the family ,our thoughts and prayers are with you.
