Dear Daire, Anna, Sarah, Katie & all of your & Christine's family, I was so deeply saddened and shocked to have just heard of Christine's passing. Christine was such a striking and warm person. So proud of her family and her work. You were such soulmates, Daire. Mum & all of my family are so devastated to hear this tragic news and we send you all our deepest and heartfelt condolences. Linda de Paor, New Zealand (formerly of 53 Dollymount Avenue.).
I am so shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Christine. Laughter and lots of fun are the stand out memories from our days in Trinity. Over the years as social workers our paths crossed and her knowledge and passion for her work in adoption really shone out. Daire, Anna, Sarah and Katie you are in my thoughts at this terrible time. May Christine rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to you Anna and your family on the loss of your dear Mum. May she rest in peace.
Hello Family of Christine.
I met your mam for the first time ever at Mud Island in April. We had big hugs because she loved what I made at quirky Irish icons . Funny she stayed in my mind because it was like hugging a ray of sunshine 🌞 I can’t stop thinking about you all if she had that effect on me after only a couple of minutes .🕯❤️
Sincere condolences to all the family at this sad time. Have very fond childhood memories with all the cousins.
Condolences and sympathy sent with love particularly to Daire, Anna, Sarah and Katie. but to
all Christine's wider family, friends , acquaintances, all who knew her.
In the last 3 weeks, particularly since Christine died,, I recall so many shared adventures, some great fun, some sadness and disappointments, listening and talking, shared advice, little breaks together, her welcoming smile, her phone calls out of the blue....... - since we met in 1975 in TCD.
Christine was a true friend .....I can express some of this by borrowing the words of someone else:
"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footsteps in your heart......"
I'm sure Christine would appreciate me saying that she trampled (in a gentle and considerate way) all over my heart.. A wonderful true friend greatly missed.
To Christine’s family, friends & work colleagues. I just heard the awfully sad news. Christine was a towering strength to us, a beautiful kind & empathetic lady. May her kind friendly soul rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Christine's family and all the people affected by her untimely death. I had the pleasure of meeting Christine through RUGs, Rathfarnham Ukulele Group. She was friendly, welcoming and inclusive, a very caring person. She got to know people quickly and took an interest in their families. She adored her own family, she was incredibly proud of Daire and the work he did and her pride and deep love for her daughters was evident any time she talked of them, which was frequently.
She was a great ukulele player and absolutely loved music, whether it was trad or ukulele, she sang her heart out. Always immaculately dressed with her beautiful red hair expertly coiffured (she swore it was her natural colour), she was always good to have at the front on the stage because she radiated joy and happiness.
Farewell my beautiful friend, you were one in a million. Rest in Peace.
Dearest Daire, Anna, Sarah and Katie.
We wish to extend our deepest sympathies on the untimely death of your beloved wife and mother Christine. We had the great pleasure of being neighbours and friends on Dollymount Avenue for many years. Christine will always be remembered for her beaming smile, her kind word for everyone she met, always remembering to ask after your own family. She was a ray of sunshine in what can sometimes be a dark world. May you rest in peace dearest Christine and may you bring comfort to your grieving family from your heavenly home.
Sincere condolences Cathy and family on the sudden loss of your beloved sister.
Deepest sympathy on Christine's untimely death. She made a huge contribution to social work in ireland, firstly with the knowledge she brought back from California in the early '80s, then through her groundbreaking work in post adoption services. A great colleague and pal for over 40 years - I will miss her.
Christine has been a huge part of our adoption journey and our family. Her understanding, empathy, skills and unrelenting support could always be counted on and the insights she provided helped us to be better parents to our precious children. Our daughter describes Christine as someone who really understood her feelings and “got” her - what a precious gift! Her guidance and understanding will be deeply missed.

We are proud of the work that Christine achieved and her vision for adoption support services in Ireland. She kept the faith through difficult times and we are blessed that she saw through the expansion of the service, its plans for further development and the recruitment of a fresh wave of new advocates for our children that she has set in train.

The adoption community and the Barnardos PAS Team has lost a peerless leader, advocate and friend. To us, she was a treasured support and a touchstone in difficult times. To Christine’s family we want you to know that Christine will never be forgotten and she is deeply written into our life’s journey with respect, warmth and affection. We wish you love and healing at this difficult time. May we all find joy in our lives in her memory and have faith that we may share her presence again.
Dearest Cathy my deepest sympathies to you, Yvonne, Paul, to Daire and Christine's family, and all the extended family.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Christine's untimely death. What a force of nature Christine was: empathic, warm, generous with her time and knowledge - an all round beautiful person. She has been a support and guidance to our family since 2007 and also an inspiration to me in my work as a counsellor. Her fount of experience, knowledge and compassion which she used to marvellous impact in her role in Barnardos Post Adoption Service has, I know, helped many families as well as ours. Sincere condolences to Christine's family at this sad time.

To Daire, Anna, Sarah and Katie and all her extended family my heart aches for your loss. I wish I had the words to offer comfort and I am sorry that I don't. Just know that you were loved utterly and deeply and her pride in the people that you are was her foundation in life.

To the wider community affected by adoption thank you for your expressions of admiration and gratitude for such a unique and special person. It has meant a lot. Christine said she learned to 'do the things to help the people, and everything else will fall into place' and may this stay with us all in our work.

To my colleagues in Barnardos thank you for your support as we process this loss and for your commitment to honour her legacy in the work that we do. Christine's judgment of character and skill in bringing people together will stand us in good stead for the future.

Goodbye and thank you to my wonderful friend. Thank you for your wisdom, your positivity, your humour and your ability to make the person you were with feel both important and heard. Thank you for being in my life and for all the ways you have made me a better person.
