Sincere condolences to the Shouldice family on the passing of Chris. I have many happy memories of his visits to Fermoy in the seventies when he sorted out many engineering issues. He was a thorough professional, a gentleman to the core and great company.

My sincere condolences to Ann and all of Chris's family. I considered him my mentor when I entered the field of solar energy in the late 1970s, and we remained true friends ever after. It was great to continue to meet him at conferences and at the Dublin Scientific Club, and at reunions. A fine and most engaging gentleman.

To Ann, Redmond and Ciara, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your lovely dad. He was a true gentleman. I very much enjoyed working with him over the years when he served on the RDS Science and Technology Committee and Council. He always had a ready smile and was willing to help in any way that he could. He will be missed by all that knew him.
