Sorry to hear of Chris's passing and sincere condolences to Michelle, Stephen and Chris's wider family.

Chris was my immediate supervisor in the Office of the Refugee Applications Commissioner for half a decade. On my arrival one Monday morning in the Office, Chris noticed that I was looking unwell and persuaded me to go with him to a nearby GP surgery. There I was diagnosed with a cardiac problem and taken direct by ambulance to hospital, where I was operated on successfully next day. Thanks again Chris.

I want to apologize for not attending Chris's funeral service but my own sister passed away at the same time as Chris and her removal occurred at the same date and time as Chris's service.

I feel so sad to hear of Chris's death. Our paths imtertwined a few times, most memorably in Social Welfare where he formed half of a formidable Don partnership with Joe Mortell against meself and Gary Foster. And after that when he came to Justice a while after me and brought his badly needed energy and smarts to areas that really needed it. Rest well now Chris. Job done.
