Christopher (Chris) NOLAN

I'm very sorry to hear of Chris's passing. He is a well known and well respect past pupil of Rockbrook. He features strongly among the 1987 leaving cert graduation class in our 'Rockbrook 50th Anniversary' book and has left good, happy and strong memories among school teachers and fellow past pupils alike.

So many wonderful memories come to mind from a friendship that began over 40 years ago — happy times in Mount Argus enjoying your dear mother’s cooking; a winter cycling trip to Ventry in December 1987; Ballyhaise, Kill Lane, and our meeting in Fatima in 2007 with your parents and family. In later years, our meetings in Newbridge, Punchersgrange, Portlaoise, Athlone, and Madrid brought the same joy: long, profound conversations, good humour, and unwavering loyalty. It was always simply great to be with you.
Thank you, Chris. You made the world a better place for so many, and especially for me. I will miss you.

Though decades had passed one essential remained the same , Chris was quite simply a very good man.Through all the ups and downs of life he lived a life guided by God, with a strong moral compass, gentle wisdom, and a heart full of love. He sought to bring comfort, strength, and faith to those around him.

He will be deeply missed .

May Chris rest in peace in the company of his Dad Christy in God’s loving presence, and may his memory continue to inspire faith and goodness in all who knew him.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Chris.I got to know Chris many years ago when we had our business in The Curragh Camp.A gentleman of the highest order.We also did business together after our business closed and I worked in Power City ,Naas.Chris and I had many conversations.He was truly one of life’s greatest gentleman.We spoke of his yearn to travel the world….alas his dreams were cut short.Chris you were “one of a kind”.It was my pleasure to have known you.Deepest sympathy to all his family.Rest easy Chris.

I’ll always remember those school days cycling down the hill together from Rockbrook— the chats, as we passed over Templeogue Bridge on his way to Mount Argus, always steady and great company. Though we lost touch over the years, he was a good, solid man who gave his all. May he rest in the lap of the Lord, and may his children, his siblings, and his mother Dymphna find strength and comfort.
