We are very sad at the news of Christy’s death. He was a true gentleman, kind and discerning. He served as Steward of the Provost’s House in Trinity College for many years, a duty he carried out with great care, discretion and good humour. I was the last Provost that he worked with. We retired on the same date 31 July 2011. He left an indelible memory with all my family and with everyone who came in contact with him. Thank you Christy. We miss you. Our sympathies go to his extended family. Sorry I can’t be at the funeral.

Sincere sympathy to Christy’s family at this sad time. I know Christy found the past while very difficult especially with the loss of his hearing. I worked with him on Sacristy team in OLOV and he has left his mark and his memory there. He was always attentive to what he was doing and equally to praying for intentions when requested. His regular response always was ‘the light of heaven to them’. Christy, ‘The Light of Heaven to you’ and may you rest there in Eternal Peace.
Fond regards, we shall remember you. Carmel.

I'm so sorry to hear about the death of Christy. I worked with Christy many moons ago in Trinity and I was only thinking about him on Wednesday, not realising he had died. Bernard and family, we are so sorry for your loss.

Christy was part of our family for as far as we can remember.

I did a project in college and Christy got me into Trinity, I remember we went for lunch, everyone knew, love and respected him.

Over the years we’d always look forward to seeing him Saturdays and we always sent him massages on Facebook for his birthday, to say happy Christmas or just a hello.

He will be missed by everyone, he was such an amazing person and we are so glad we had him in our lives.

Rest easy Christy, you were one in a million and we loved you.

Carl, Clare and Isabella
