Very sad to hear of Christy's passing. Thinking of all his family and friends. He was a lovely man. I remember when my granda(Denis Carr) passed and Christy was sitting at the bar in Plunketts not long after, he said to me "im missing my old pal". Well im sure they're having great chats, pints of guinness and a bit of a sing song together now 💙 Rest In Peace Christy.

So sad to learn of Christy's death. He was one of the great characters in The Island and in Oliver Plunkett's. Christy celebrated life to the full and brought an infectious good humour to every encounter. He will be sadly missed.

Very sorry to learn of Christy's Death. He was a great sporting golfer at the Island Golf Club for very many year's. He will always be remembered at prizegiving ceremonies at Hotel Westport on our yearly visits and by golfer's from club's in Ireland and Abroad for his wonderful songs and stories which he delivered in his smiling manner. Christy was one of life’s true gentlemen. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. His songs captured everyday life—he was a poet in every sense of the word.

My condolences go out to his sons, daughters, grandchildren, and all his immediate family. I also want to extend my sympathies to my sister Margaret, who walked many a road to Croke Park with Christy to cheer on the Dubs—they were loyal companions for many years.
