Sincere sympathy to Deirdre on the passing of your dear dad, sympathy also to Mrs. Whelan & family. May he rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to the Whelan family.
May Christy Rest In Peace.
Deepest sympathy to Bridget and all the family on the death of Christy. I have wonderful memories of when Christy coached Aztecs, a great man with a wicked sense of humour.
I was privileged to play football with Christy over 40 years ago in a Dublin Corporation staff league. Christy was not just managing the team but anchoring the midfield even though he was approaching 50 years of age. The opposition sometimes laughed when they saw him togging out as he was 30 years older than many of the players. They weren't laughing when the game started! What a wonderful footballer he was! He could land a 40 yard pass onto your toe. But what I remember most was his great sense of humour and the encouragement he offered to a very limited player like myself who was only making up the numbers. He was a total gentleman and I was very sorry to hear of his passing.
Sincere and Heartfelt Sympathy to all Christy's Family, I never met Christy but he worked in Dublin Corporation with Brian's late brother John and through Christy we always got the very best tickets for Old Trafford the envy of all our friends, thinking of you all at this very difficult sad time, May His Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace
Sincere condolences to the Whelan family I have many happy memories of Chtistie and his brother John playing in a football tournament in Omagh many years ago I got to meet them both again 60 years later at Liams memorial bridge Opening One of life's true gentlemen RIP Christie
Our sincere sympathies to Hilda and the family on the death of Christy. A lovely man, a funny man with a sense of humour which I enjoyed. We would have the occasional chat after Mass in St. Anne's and the running joke was whether he was fit enough to make himself available for selection for Bohs' next game - he always had the same answer for me - 'he just needed another week and he would be back to full fitness'. There was one occasion when I met him in Dunnes Stores, not having seen him for a while, when quick as flash he said to me 'Gosh, I haven't seen you in ages - I was doing my best to avoid you, now I'll have to say hello to you' with that impish grin on him. Lovely memories for me. Thanks Christy, may you rest in peace and watch over Hilda and your family and comfort them at this very sad time for them.
Condolences to Hilda and all the Family . Kevin always had very fond memories of Christy. May he RIP.
Deepest sympathies to the wonderful Whelan family. I always think of you as great Manchester United fans. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis

Sorry to hear of Christy's passing. When I joined the Corporation and played summer football in the Inter - D, Christy played in midfield with me. He still had the touches. He was very skillful and we used to take umbrage if anyone tackled him too hard. He was also instrumental in me going to play for St. Brendan's Hospital. Great man.

Christy was one of nature's gentlemen and will be sadly missed by his many friends and admirers in the football world. To be greeted by Christy on my way into Dalymount always gave me a lift.
