My sincerest condolences to Rita and all the Clancy family on the sad passing of a truly great man. Mr. Clancy was my Principal when I first started teaching in the Holy Spirit BNS in 1979. He was a wonderful principal, positive, innovative and always encouraging us to try out out new activities for the good of the children and the staff. His leadership and example stayed with me during my 40 years teaching. He had a particular love of the Irish language and traditional music which rubbed off on all. I have many wonderful memories of Mr. Clancy and my years in Sillogue Road.

Very sad to hear that Uncle Chris has passed away. I have very fond memories of him since childhood; his generosity, his warm and jolly nature and great sense of humor. He always had jokes and stories to entertain us as kids and many magic tricks up his sleeve. He always had time for us. And the music of course…wonderful. As an adult I knew him as a gentle, kind and great conversationalist- so thoughtful and well informed, but with the same joking twinkle in his eyes - always so interesting to chat with. What a lovely man in every way. Those who knew him were blessed.
My sincere sympathies to Auntie Rita, and to my cousins Christopher, David, Paul, Brian and Amelia, and to all who will miss Chris. May he Rest In Peace.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the death of Mr Clancy.
A man of faith and dedicated service. A gentleman.
I owe my priesthood to people like Christopher. I got an excellent education in the Holy Spirit B.N.S. The foundation which was laid there was the greatest start in education I could have asked for.
As a member of St Joseph’s Young Priests Society, Christopher prayed for and financially contributed to many a vocation to priesthood in Ireland and abroad. I am blessed to be one of them. Thank you Christooher.
To Mr Clancy’s family May I extend to you my deepest sympathies on your sad loss. Please be assured of my prayers. Your husband and father was one in a million.
God bless,
Fr Éamonn

As I sit here as a retired man, looking back on a good life, like others I have the time to reflect on the teacher who impacted most on what I was to become. For me, Chris Clancy was that teacher. I had him for 3rd and 4th class starting in September 1968. The good humoured and kind support and teaching he gave to me and hundreds of others, brought about a change for the better which persists to this day. God rest him and bless him for the great good he brought to those of us lucky enough to pass his way.
Sincere sympathy to Rita and family on the death of Chris. He taught me at Boston national school and was a wonderful teacher. May he rest in peace.
