Catherine Siobhan and Donal I am so sorry to hear of the death of your dear Father I only heard the news from my sister in law Sheila Fletcher yesterday, Christy was a very good friend to my late brother Michael and always enjoyed supper and a chat with them on a Sunday night. Michael thought a lot of Christy and worried about him walking home at night on his own. I met you dad on a few occasions and enjoyed the chat. May he Rest In Peace he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

If only the world was full of men like our Uncle Dan…it would be full of people who patiently listened before speaking, who had thoughtful unique and often funny observations about this crazy world. We’d all be curious and interested in others, what they did, how they did it and what they felt about what they did. We’d all have great memories and be able to tell vibrant and interesting stories. We’d let people know that we noticed those small virtuous actions they did that no one else saw but that we observed. We’d all be validated, have smiles on our faces and twinkles in our eyes. We would bring out the best in each other. Dan had a gift for engaging with everyone from the street vendor to the world class performer; I saw him make instant friends time and time again. His presence was one of the best gifts in life, one that I always looked forward to. You will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved you.
