Belated condolences to Chris's family on his passing. Like many others here, I too was a former colleague who had the benefit of his knowledge, wit, wisdom and the generosity of his time and spirit. May he rest in peace.

Chris was one of life’s gentlemen. He advised on many of the intricate issues facing the CRO during my time as Legal Advisor to the Registrar of Companies - Chris was always a pleasure to deal with, as well as being the provider of sound and considered legal advice. I was very sorry to hear of Chris's death. He was a great colleague, erudite, fun and kind in equal measures, generous with his knowledge while his advices were a model of brevity and clarity. I'm sorry I can't be there to offer my condolences in person but I would like to send my sympathies to Chris's family and friends and his colleagues at this time of sadness and loss.

My deepest sympathy to the Doyle family on Chris's passing. Chris was excellent company, was generous with his expertise, and he had kindness. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I met Christopher many years ago, as a young student on placement in the AGO. His kindness, knowledge and helpfulness have stayed with me ever since. I was pleased to have run into him by chance a few years back and to have had the opportunity to catch up with him. May his family and friends be comforted at this difficult time. RIP.

I knew Christopher well both as a friend and a colleague from the time he joined the office sometime around 1990 until I left the office myself in 1999. Apart from his high ability as a lawyer I remember him as a very sociable and friendly person who enjoyed giving and attending parties and socialising with colleagues, and generally having a bit of fun. He was a "heavy lifter" who would undertake any legal task assigned to him without complaint and do it speedily and well. He was universally liked and respected and I have no doubt that his loss will be a heavy one for the office as an institution as well as every person who works there. My thoughts and my condolences are with his family in their great loss.

We mourn the loss of a great kind and caring friend going back to Chris’ Junior freshman year in TCD all of 45 years ago, and throughout that period since. A brilliant barrister and a brilliant friend.

I'm so sorry to learn of Chris' passing. He "devilled" for me on entering the Law Library and it was immediately obvious he had a great intellect. He also had a sharp sense of humour and was fearless in presenting a case even to the most difficult of judges who could see he was not a man to be trifled with. My sincere sympathies to his family and to his colleagues in the office of the A G. May he rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to the Doyle family at this sad time. Chris had an encyclopedic knowledge of the law, and that knowledge traversed many different areas of law. More so than that, he was generous with his knowledge, always happy to share it and engage with others in discussion on whatever issued they were dealing with at the time. He infused that with a great sense of humour, so the discussions were as entertaining as they were informative. He had many great interests, and could add a witty line, comment, anecdote or story to a gathering. He was so well-liked, and I am so sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
