Our sincere condolences on the sudden passing of Christy. A perfect gentleman and a joy to be with. Christy was so kind to my Mum Maureen Murray and a great friend to my brother Donal. Sharing amazing meals filled with great chats and laughter. Christy was one in a million and will never be forgotten. RIP Christy.
So sad to hear about the passing of Christy, he was a wonderful and close friend to my father Ronan Connolly whose friendship was borne out of their time in teaching and canoeing. Sadly Ronan passed away in 2021 as well. I have very fond memories of Christy regularly visiting us at our family home in Ranelagh when we were children, often with toys (a James Bond car!) and treats. Christy also welcomed us into his home in many occasions as well. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this said time. Thank you for your kindness to us and our Dad Christy. Sorry to hear of Christy ‘s death I taught with him in BCS and while we wouldn’t have always sang out of the same hymn sheet there was always a mutual respect. A gifted metalwork artist who made a minature brass hurley for me which I’ve always treasured and said a prayer for him as I polished it over many years.

My sincere condolences, I was so sad to hear of Christy’s passing. We worked together for many years at UL and was a huge supporter of me and the School Placement team, a huge loss to our team of tutors. Christy was a huge supporter of student teachers and so many benefitted from his knowledge, support and care, just some of the characteristics he brought to the role. He will be missed.
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Christy's sudden passing. We first met when Christy was my C.T. on initial Teacher Training Placement in Dundrum over 50 years ago. We kept in contact and eventually worked together as Tutors in U.L. over the last 17 years. He always served with distinction and commitment both in his personal and professional life. He will be sadly missed by all with whom he came into contact. I am proud to have known Christy, both as a colleague and as a genuine friend. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

Deepest sympathies to Christy's family and close friends. It was a privilege to have been taught by Christy. In his case, the clothes definitely did maketh the man - his outward style reflected his brilliant personality and teaching ability. A number of years later when he invited me to accompany him with a group of TY students to Manchester, I learned what a supportive, kind and loyal person he was - a gentleman to the core.
May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathies to the Conville family . I had been looking forward to meeting Christy again around this time.
He was the best colleague and friend one could have, a complete Christian gentleman, professional, perfectionist and a craftsman. Rightly, he valued teachers who engaged like him in extra curricular and youth work. We had shared experiences in taking students skiing in Austria, working in the old Co, Dublin VTA ( before the TUI) and as Tutor and Dean in BCS.
We are all saddened at his passing but grateful to have had him in our lives.

Always was a pleasure to meet Christy. May he rest in peace.
I remember visiting Ireland, Christy would the group a visit to Belfast. This is what we did last summer as well, of course, followed up by a visit to his favourite restaurant. As we say in the Netherlands: he always made it a party, and he had his heart on his lips. Thank you Christy for being there, always all in 100percent. You already showed us, whatever happens, no fear, you just exchanged this life for the other and you are still there. Be sure I’ll put you to work for many many intentions! Life changes but it doesn’t end. Thank you Lord for Christy’s presence in so many peoples lives.
John Joy family and extended families ,our sincere condolences to you all on the death of your dear brother.May he rest in peace.
The last dinner I had with Christy was in fxb in monkstown on a weekday lunchtime after all the lockdowns. He had a huge pot of oysters and plenty of chat. Myself and my wife have lots of great memories of this man and he was instrumental on getting us as a couple on our feet in Dublin in so many practical ways. R.i.p Christy , your lessons live in me.
