Very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Christy.
Deepest sympathy to all his family. Christy was a fantastic singer and performed for many years in Cobh Gaa Club including on opening night back in 1974 and on 50th anniversary in 2024.
He was a regular visitor to the Saturday night dances and always rendered a few songs.
We were work mates for many years in Verholme Cork Dockyard.

My deepest sympathies to Christie’s sisters and their family’s, also to his friend Mary. Christy and I were classmates in St. Joseph’s school, going back more than 75 years. We renewed our friendship when we started meeting in St. Francis church for mass and we always linked up for the Christmas Eve mass. He told me once that he sang there when the church opened on July 14, 1953. Christy was a gentle soul whose health wasn’t the best in latter years but it never got him down.
May he rest in peace.
