On 20th Nov.'25 John Russell & myself hosted a greatly overdue HALL FAME CORK MUSICAL career tribute to Christy at The Deanrock, Togher.
A galaxy of musicians from near/far honoured Christy.
So sad, that just a few months later, Christy will now be singing with the angels. At 86 his tenor voice was still great entertainment.
We will ensure the name ""CHRISTY GAMBLE" is carved into the Golden Iconic Memories of Cork' Greatest Singers via our HALL FAME CORK digital project.

On behalf of all associated with HALL FAME CORK & IRELAND, we tender our condolences to Christy's own family. Also not forgetting his companion of 3 decades, always by his side & the lady who came to his immediate & urgent rescue last Friday moring, MARY MURPHY, to get Christy to CUH emergency.

We had the pleasure of growing up next door to Christie and Elma at No 1 The Lough. Most days Christie could be heard singing and whistling in his back garden. My mother, Breda, felt a step nearer to Heaven while she listened. They were a beautiful family with three now adult children, Mary, Susan and David to whom I send deep sympathy. Christie was a believer and is now tucked in above in accordance with his faith. Cork will miss him. He made his contribution and will be spoken of and remembered.

Dearest Gamble family , it was with deep sadness that I read of dear Christie’s death.

He used to sing with my late father Noel O Sullivan at many venues around the city for different charities.

I was in contact with him until very recently. We enjoyed his company and found him to be a lovely gentleman.

May his beautiful voice, his God given gift last in our memories forever.

I had the honour and privilege to listen to his amazing voice and met him on many occasions when he was a member of the Shandon Céilí Band with John and my late dad Liam. He would always have time for a chat.
