To all of the Hannon family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear this evening of Christy's passing. I'm a past pupil of his, and an English teacher today, and I owed so much of this to Christy. I was probably a bit of a pest a lot of the time in the junior classes, but Christy never gave up on me, and I'm grateful to say that I had a much better relationship once I'd grown up and copped on a bit, and the help, advice and encouragement Christy gave me, particularly getting me involved in essay competitions, stood to me and carried me through school, college and to where I am today.
An absolute gentleman, an inspiration, and a brilliant teacher- I always intended telling him if I met him, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
Rest in peace, Christy- and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help and guidance I never properly appreciated at the time.
