So sorry to hear of Christy's passing. We met when Crown paints merged with Berger and later discovered we were living close to each other. My memories are of a happy man who was always smiling and friendly.

Rialto Football Club has lost a true and wonderful friend. Christy would have been the first person that I'd phone if we needed a ref. He always went far and beyond the cause to make sure a game would take place. If he wasn't available. He would not let up until he got you one. I have been involved in football since the days of the laced ball. I had never met a referee in football that someone did not complain about. That was until I met Christy all those years ago. He was one of our own. Football has surely lost one of the old stock. Rest in peace my friend. From all that had the honour and pleasure of your company in Rialto.

So sad to hear of Christy’s passing, such a great man , always willing to hop on his bike and help if we were stuck for a ref. He loved the chats and great with the players, he really loved it. Thank you Christy and Rest Easy

Absolutely heartbreaking news to hear of christy's passing💔💔 he was an absolute gent of a man and a great ref i was absolutely shocked when we chatted about him becoming ill he loved the game with all his heart⚽️⚽️ i loved when he would be refereeing my matches i had some laugh with him on the pitch we would be cracked up he used to say il have to send you off ye keep messing but i kept messing he never sent me off🤣🤣
Iv got great memories thank you for being a ref who truly loved the game and you were fair well to me anyway i think only cause of the laugh you made my games so enjoyable and i thank you from the bottom of my heart christy may you rest in peace 🙏🙏
