Sincere sympathy to Christy's wife and family. Madeline and Christy helped me many years ago. My car broke down outside their shop on my way home to Trim on a dark winters evening. Christy helped me ring a local garage, contact my family and kept the car safe for me overnight.
I never forgot their kindness to me. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolances to the Murtagh Family on the passing of Christy. I was so saddened to hear of Christie's passing. He, and indeed all of you were such a big part of my childhood. From being sent up on the bikes for messages, to stopping off on the way home from work or school. Always remember a joke that we had if mammy (Mary Maguire, fellow westmeath woman) had to go in for anything we said she would be yapping for hours or when she use to get a macaroon bar for the dog every day on her way home from work. She use to love going in for the chats.. no doubt she will be waiting on him in heaven to discuss the football. Both Christy and all of you will always be remembered fondly by us and by everybody in rosberry and beyond. Will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. May Christy Rest in Peace.
