I was sad to hear the news of Christy's passing. Christy and I met many years ago in the Boro through my father, Anthony McCarthy and became good friends. Christy was a friend to every one and an entertainer to all. My wife, Lois, and I had the great pleasure of knowing Christy and hearing him sing his wonderful ballads on both sides of the Atlantic. We will miss Christy a lot.....he was a wonderful man....and I am sure he is still entertaining and singing with old friends above in heaven. Goodbye my good friend.
God Bless Uncle Christy, we are all so sad that you have gone. I'll always remember the lovely chats we had and hearing you singing. So sorry you never got to meet my daughter Ella-Mae. Sleep tight, all our love xxxxx
Deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Christy my friend and member of our band The Sons Of Roisin. May God bless his soul. I will never forget him and the times we shared together making music. He was Great.
Good bye and God bless Uncle Christy, we will miss you and your songs. Lots of love Nora & Vicky xxxx
Christy was a friend and great singer. I will miss him and I am proud and happy to have known and worked with him on various recordings and radio interviews during his life. May he rest in peace. He sang of life in Limerick as it was and is. His balladeer's legacy is one of being a man that chronicled the changing face of Limerick during several eras. He was a wonderful singer, great friend and family man and devout in his faith. I will miss him very much and pray God's blessing on the repose of his soul.

RIP Christy O'Donovan
singer, balladeer, songwriter and friend.
you will be missed. Thank you for everything.
