I knew Ciarán from Interbio in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Everyone looked up to Ciarán professionally but he also made our working life great fun. I'm so sorry for your loss and send you my deepest condolences.

Dearest Gillen Family, it is with heartfelt sympathies that we send our sincerest condolences during this heartbreaking, shocking and most difficult sad time for your family. Ciaran touched SO many lives throughout his professional career and on a personal side. We first met January 1992 during the American buyout of InterBio and instantly formed a lasting friendship. I shall greatly miss our communications and am grateful that our paths crossed. Please know that each of you are in our thoughts & prayers across the many miles. Ciaran to always be fondly remembered, missed & never forgotten. "When your heart is empty, filling it with happy memories will help find your smile."

I was very saddened to hear of the sudden death of Ciaran. I worked with Ciaran at interbio Sandyford for several years. Ciaran was a very kind, charming, helpful person with a great sense of humour, he will be deeply missed by all. My condolences to all his family.

It’s with a heavy heart that I post this message of condolences to Ciaran’s family friends and work colleagues.

Ciaran always called me the Doc and we first meet more than 25 years ago and struck up a friendship and working relationship which has lasted all that time.

We travelled all over the world together solving environmental problems and he was an amazing human being taken too young.

I remember travelling to Malaysia, China and Japan on several occasions with him and even attempting to sing Bohemian Rhapsody in a Japanese Karaoke bar not a good sound for those listening but we gave it our all.

I will sorely miss me old friend.

My sincere condolence to David and team. I couldnt believe the news and still in a phase to digest it. A friend whom you never met and still you feel like a good brother and colleague. This is what Ciaran to me. A severe loss to Environmental Fraternity . We lost a man who dedicated his entire life for the upkeeping and preserving the environment through his knowledge, expertise, products and services.

You were an exceptional person.We started our business partnership back in 1996.I still remember that lifeturning moment when I had to decide whether to stay working for Behn-Meyer,a German company or to pursue partnership with Interbio,an American company.Then, you came;bringing me the golden opportunity to work with Irish where you co-founded Bio-future Ltd.Our partnership bloomed along the way, from business to a friendship.My children called you their ‘Uncle Ciaran’ and in a way you watched them grew up with your yearly visit to Kuala Lumpur.
I still remember vividly our last meet in Kuala Lumpur, last November.We were discussing on our future over ‘Nasi Kandar’; your favourite Indian Food.We shared about our health,I told you about the minor heart attack that I had 2 years before.We planned to visit you this year after Hajj season,so that I can introduce Amirrul to Bio-future Ltd, as the next key-person to carry on my legacy,the responsible person to be in contact with you in the event of my absent.God planned, you left us before we could visit you.
We were deeply saddened by your passing. My wife will always remember your messy face whenever you had her homecooked chili crab.
I am deeply grateful for the relationship we had over the years and will forever cherish our friendship and knowledge that we shared.
