Ciarán, there hasn't been a day without tears from the pain of missing you. But there also hasn't been a single day I have not smiled thinking of you.

The toasting glass in their honour we should raise
The kind of heart they are worthy of our praise
To help those in need they go out of their way
Just to be helpful, they make people’s day
Kind hearted people - a few live on every street
Such people that one feels happy to meet
For the welfare of others they genuinely do care
Though sad to think of such people becoming rare
A few kind hearted people I feel privileged to know
And my respect for them continues to grow
Their rare gift of kindness is a wonderful thing
And their praises I always feel happy to sing
To their higher selves they remain ever true
And credit for their humanity - in heaps they are due!

I spend a few weeks in a ward with Ciaran in St. Vincent's Hospital. Though dealing with his own issues he showed such care and concern for his fellow ward mates. A true gentleman.

Bernie, I only heard the sad news about Ciaran last Monday, from Eileen.
Reading all these messages I can sense he was a wonderful happy and kind person, loved by so many. May he rest in Peace. Thinking of you at such a difficult time. Take care.

I can't believe I'm writing this Ciaran. You were a great friend, who always made me laugh, as you did with everyone who knew you, even at your lowest you still had that wonderful sense of humour. Ciaran was my neighbour-easy going ,gentle soul. I Often saw Ciaran when I’d be home from work I’d be having a rant about things - he’d always say “Im sorry for your troubles”-Awe! Turned out Ciaran had so many battles to fight. I Never saw him in bad form.
We both have cats & would discuss how it felt being a tenant in the Cats properties.

Just over 5 years ago we gave your sister, brother in law and a celebrant a few frights on the day they got married in the registry office. It was a tough job that needed two best men. Sadly, the better man has left us and has left behind a huge hole in the hearts of everybody who has ever met you and had the privilege of being in your company. Ciaran's loving and caring nature was greatly appreciated by myself Kate and Grainne, when we needed support, he would nip by on his bicycle at a moment's notice to help out and lift spirits with his jokes and banter when his uncle Kevin was ill.

I met Ciarán the night of his 21st Birthday. He stood tall in the crowd, surrounded by the friends he’s known and loved since childhood, dancing to his favourite trance music. He had a warmth and kindness in his eyes that made everyone feel seen, understood, and valued, and that’s why he was so deeply loved by all who knew him.

We shared countless unforgettable experiences — thrilling rollercoaster rides in Florida, a dodgy flight to Vegas, the infamous volcano in Inchicore, to the peaceful bike rides around Phoenix Park and the majestic views at Glendalough. These memories will forever remain close to my heart.

But more than the experiences, it is Ciarán’s presence that I’ll miss the most. He was my best friend. He has always been there, spending hours on the phone, talking about everything and nothing - his support unwavering, his love constant.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship. I will carry the memories of Ciarán in my heart forever, and I will always be grateful for the time I had with him.
I love and miss you so much...

Even on days when you knew he wasn't feeling welI he never complained and always asked after our boys. I enjoyed every single interaction I ever had with him and we know that he will be dearly missed. We will remember Ciarán fondly and with love forever. He will always be loved.
