Deirdre, I just heard the sad news of Ciaran's passing. My deepest sympathies to you especially and to the whole family. Ciaran was always so kind and friendly to me since I first knew him, well over 60 years ago, even before the Wednesday Record Hops, which of course you remember well I'm sure.
I know Deirdre you will miss him, be strong and cherish the memories you have.

Folks at Black Rock Sports Club in Melbourne Victoria sadly acknowledge the passing of a dear friend and bowling coach. Those of us who spent so many happy hours with Ciaran and Deirdre will cherish the times we spent together here and in Dublin.

I was very saddened to hear of the death of Ciaran. His broad experience and deep sense of fairness made him a wonderful colleague on the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Our deepest condolences to Deirdre and his family.

I knew Ciarán professionally "back in the days"...and what a professional he was.
Ciarán had the gift of being able to see and sense situations from all angles, appreciate the nuances of each contention...and could then leave those who put them forward actually agreeing with his "take" on the matter !!
He left an indelible impression on me for which I am grateful down the years.
He was a gentleman from head to toe, a true member of the human race, a loss to all his sporting and professional pursuits and, above all, he will of course be greatly missed by his wife and family circle.
As such he will undoubtedly be a valued and welcome asset at the table situated beside the Heavenly Gates.

I knew him mostly through bowling and his services to the B.L.I and indeed to Bowling in this country are well documented. Gosh I am so sorry to hear of Ciaran's passing, I worked with Ciaran at 17 years old age my first job and Ciaran was a Hugh influence in my life and was the kindest and most wonderful person I had met at such a young age may he rest in peace and condolences to his wife and family.
