I have lovely memories of collecting little blonde , curly -haired Claire and taking her up to the girls’ school in Kilworth when she was in Junior Infants. Many years later she and I worked on turning the heel of a stocking, and grafting the toe, in preparation for her “Easter Orals” - for girls - a necessary part of getting into Teacher Training College .
