We were privileged to have met Claire through our sister Marian from their boarding school years in Bundoran. We all looked forward to Claire's many enjoyable visits to our home in Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon.

I met Claire through work in JC, what great times we had, Claire had the greatest " joie de vivre" of anyone I know, wonderful company always. My sincere condolences to Claire's family and friends on your immense loss.

Ais, I’m so sorry for the loss of your lovely Aunt Claire. She was such great fun and we have such brilliant memories of her, especially when we’d be coming home after a night out and she’d be encouraging us to turn around and head back out to a party! She was always full of life and wonderful to be around. Thinking of Marianne, Derek, Caroline, Denis and Mick as well — she will be greatly missed.

I have many happy memories of Clare over the years, of Clare visiting my parents Tom & Lillie to meeting her in Nerja with my late Mum. One memory that comes to mind of Clare is when she started her career in the Civil Service. Clare's mother (Mollie) had enrolled her in a secretarial course one night a week. Instead of going to the course Clare would call into my parents home. My Mum was always concerned what would Mollie, Clare's mother say if she found out or if Vincent Clare's father called in and Clare was there. Even then Clare was not at all concerned of what might be said.

I am heartbroken to learn of Claire's passing. She was one of a kind with a wit and energy I admired immensely, and I feel very lucky to have known her.
