We were very sorry to learn that Clement has died. He has endured illnesses for many years but has always had his website www.lugnad.ie to work on and keep him challenged. He wrote the software in such a way that whether you used a phone, tablet or PC it would adapt and you could double click on photographs to give great close ups. The site contains many unique articles, news, book reviews etc. Sadly in recent years it was hacked and the photographs had to be taken down. Hopefully in time it will be fully restored or the content migrated onto a suitable site. He is a great loss to our Maritime history. Ar deis De go raibh a anam, dilis.

Sincere sympathy to Pauline and the McGann family on the sad death of Clem. Clem was a valued member of the Maritime Institute of Ireland. He was instrumental in establishing the mariner.ie website and he managed the website for many years. His knowledge of maritime history was second to none.

Sincere condolences to Pauline and family on Clem's passing. Clem was my first boss in Irish Life, 40 years ago now and I have great memories of the time myself, Ann & Yvonne spent working for him. So glad I got to catch up with him at the recent reunion and reminisce on those good times.

We are both so sorry to hear of Clem's passing. We worked with Clem in Systems many years ago and benefitted from his great knowledge on many occasions. So glad we got to chat with him again at the recent Systems reunion. Thinking of you Pauline and all the family. Rest in Peace, Clem.

Learning of the very sad news of Clement McGann passing - RIP

Clement was a regular visitor to our Centre for Lectures and other occasions - always very welcomed by our members and a lovely engaging person with visiting seafarers from All over the Word.

Pauline & family so very sad to learn of Clem’s passing may he rip. He was such a unique man both interested and interesting - I have such fond memories of when Ann, Paula and myself worked in his team. It was so great that he made it into the Systems reunion last year. I am visiting with family in USA so will miss the services but you will be in my thoughts. Yvonne

We both joined the computer department in Irish Life around the same time and were good friends over a period of more than 30 years. Always enjoyed meeting up most afternoons for a chat over a cup of tea/coffee until such time as we reached retirement. Rest in peace Clement.
