Tom was a true inspiration to me as a junior officer. He was a great worker and yet a kind and understanding boss. I recall him sitting down beside me on the Cork/Dublin train with my daughters and buying them treats from the trolley. In later years he roped me into helping out at the Cork City Sports. Im deeply saddened by Tom’s passing. To his family I say you had a wonderful Dad and person. RIP.

My fondest memories of uncle Tom were meeting him before the Rugby internationals back in the 80s in Lansdowne where he would have a terrace ticket waiting for me. Back then they were like gold dust.
