Colin was one of the first of Ciaran's (Gally's) friends in Dundalk to welcome me. He had a great sense of humour that would invariably end in tears from the laughter. He was also kind, warm & generous underneath that great big exterior.

Our oldest son Fionn knows Meego as 'Dad’s friend with the campervan & motorcycle'. Gally has fond memories of Meego growing up, not too many of the Rugby antics appropriate on this forum. Meego was a great friend who would pop in to Adare when passing. In recent years he was the wingman to the many kayaking trips & adventures along the Shannon with Kenny & Johnny McCabe. The Campervan would be parked up at the end of the day. Plenty of food & chats that went well into the night.

A chance meeting in Kilkee last Summer meant we spent one of the best evenings of our holiday together. We had the pleasure of meeting Nicola's acquaintance & got to see another side of Meego we didn't know existed. He was happy and very much 'under the thumb'. Our heart goes out to Nicola on this sad day.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Colins parents May & Joe, his family especially his daughter Niamh and son Oisín. His girlfriend Niamh and his chosen family - his wide circle of friends & rugby comrades who no doubt all have great memories of their time & escapades with Meego. May Colins soul rest in peace, x
