So sorry to hear of Colin’s passing. I always loved spending time with him in Dublin, catching up with him & Maria and exploring town. He always had something interesting to say. After the last time I was in Ireland with Billy, Colin would send Billy songs over WhatsApp and Billy would send one back the next day (he was 2 at the time) and it was a very sweet connection for them. Colin will be missed, thinking of you all and sending love to the family xx

I would have known Colin from
school and later from playing football with Castle Celtic and sharing the odd drink or two, he was always great company especially with his rendition of "The workman's friend"
a poem by Flann O'Brian, which always signalled last drinks. He was a great character who always seems to be happy with an infectious smile that will be sadly missed

Condolences to you and the Stokes family on the passing of Colin . May he Rest in Peace
I did not know Colin long as I was relatively new to the Office of the Ombudsman before he retired possibly 3/4 years. This was long enough through my daily interactions with him to discover he was a gentleman, regularly prone to break out into poetry, words, or the verse of a song as fitting to the discussion. I had to give him training at some point on the new Case Record Management (CRM) system in the office it was no mean feat....finding his keyboard on his desk was a task :) :) to say the least...he arrived up to me one day and presented me with a beautiful gift of a 2019 National Gallery of Ireland diary which I still have, just to say thank you to me. It was a beautiful gesture which reflected his nature and thoughtfulness and I was very struck by his kindness and appreciation to me just simply doing my job. Colin was a really lovely person and it was lovely to have had that
fleeting moment in his company over those few short years. May Colin rest in peace and sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers going out to the Stokes family on the sad passing of a wonderful character. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to you, Joyce, and to all who loved Colin, on the loss of your beloved husband. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but the pictures painted by all those offering sympathies here, describe a true gentleman, a friend held in high regard by all who enjoyed his company over the years.
With much love from Bairbre and your fellow Corus singers.
So sad to read of Colin's passing. I warmly recall his honesty and constructive work ethic and his attachment to his bicycle! Sympathy to his family and friends. I measc na naoimh go raibh a anam macanta.
