Colm James Mullane

Colm was truly one of a kind—a great man with an endless love for life with the most heart warming smile. He wasn’t just a friend; he was the kind of person you could lean on, confide in, and feel truly understood by. Colm’s thoughtfulness and deep insights into life touched so many of us. He was the best friend to so many, and his absence will leave a void that’s impossible to fill.

He was a great friend to me during our college years and beyond, and I will always treasure the memories we shared. From DCU, to the J1 in Rehoboth beach, inter-railing through Europe, living off the kroad in Auckland, touring New Zealand in the campervan with Miriam. The swirl of happy memories, fun nights and days is abundant. No matter where you were if Colm was there you knew a good time and great conversation were at hand.

Colm always made sure his siblings were a big part of his life, and it was clear they meant the world to him. His love and connection with his family were a testament to the kind of person he was.

He was taken to soon and will be truly missed by all.

To Bhavni, Jaya, Michael, Ann, Miriam, Aiden and Michael along with all your extended family and friends my deepest condolences.

Colm Mullane. A kind, sound, warm-hearted soul with talent abounds & time for everyone. He was the life and soul of our class in DCU and we had the best of times together. I have such fond memories of this time and of Colm belting out tunes with his guitar in the wee small hours. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. My sympathy to Bhavni & little Jaya & all of Colm’s family and friends.
Your celebration of his life was beautiful and unforgettable. Much like the man himself.

I was shocked to hear of Colm’s sudden passing. Although I only knew him through work, he was a calm, unflappable, professional presence with a wicked sense of humour and always a positive outlook. We had many chats about how he met Bhavni, their wonderful wedding, how overjoyed he was when Jaya arrived and the ups and downs of being a first time parent. The last time I saw Colm was about 8 months ago and he was in his element at a colleague’s leaving drinks. We said we would catch up for a beer soon. I’m so sorry I won’t have the chance to have that beer and another laugh with him. Gone far too soon, may he rest in peace.

To the Mullanes and all of Colm’s family, I’m so sorry to hear this heartbreaking news.
Colm was a true friend in the Gaelscoil and the Gaelcholáiste, always smiling, full of fun, and ready to break into song…I can still see him now belting out Cúnla Chroí in Bean Frost’s cór and playing the guitar beautifully in the Samharchainní. He really brought people together and brought out the best in everyone with his kindness, patience and positivity.

I worked with Colm as a partner of the bank - he was always absolutely excellent! Always very friendly, smart and effortlessly funny. When he wasn't negotiating me down on a contract, we would shoot the breeze about the rugby, family or life in Australia - I'm deeply saddened by the news of his passing and offer my deepest condolences.
