On his frequent visits to Grand Parade, I enjoyed the many conversations we had about Kilmallock as we were both from that area & in particular Limerick hurling and the history of Kilmallock & surrounding parishes, also the stories of the part his Aunt's pub played during the war of Independence.
Colm will be greatly missed, he was such a quiet gentleman and a privilege to know.

Deepest sympathy to the Lynch Family on the passing of Mr.Lynch.. Past pupil of Glasheen N.S. and have fondness memories of a true gentleman and Teacher. May he rest in Peace.
Mr Lynch was our teacher in 6th class in Glasheen in 1973. We had a reunion in 2013 and invited him to join us. It was just drinks, stories and songs in Annie Mac’s bar on the Bandon Road. We made a little presentation to him and everybody let him know how high a regard we had for him both as a teacher and gentleman and what great memories we had of being in his class. He was really chuffed by the night.
My son went to Glasheen in the late 90’s. Mr. Lynch was the headmaster by then and you could see how well all the pupils got on with him. Nothing much had changed. A lovely man, always with a twinkle in his eye. May he rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to Kathleen and all the Lynch family. We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Colm. May he rest in peace.

To meet Mr. Lynch when my boys went to Glasheen BNS was a delight, because I knew my sons were in very good hands. He has enriched the lives of countless people through the years.
He was everything that people say about him and more. We have been lucky as a community to have such a man in our midst.

Sincere sympathy to Mrs. Lynch and all the family.
To me there always seemed to be an assonance between Glaisín and Ó Loingsigh, a synonymity conjoined by 'Colm'. Whenever we met up, whether at general I.N.T.O. musterings, as fellow members of its Education Committee when this was first established in 1973 or as venturesome authors in the wave of new textbooks breaking on the shore of a changing primary curriculum, Colm always struck me as the embodiment of the good teacher, committed, informed and judicious in all. It's lovely to read the many tributes from his past pupils. So much happy learning evoked. Colm anois i measc iad siúd atá imithe ar shlí na fírinne.
My deepest sympathy to all who loved him.
Kathleen and family, my deepest sympathy on Colm's death. Colm was an honourable, gentle, sincere and caring person. He was a wonderful person to meet, so interesting and humourous. His qualities as a teacher have been widely attested to. Indeed he had all the attributes of a good Christian and good teacher. I have particular memories of him on Wednesdays of Easter week when we used to have a half-day at the INTO Congress. Frequently, with his very good friend the late Pádraig Ó Néill, we would go for a drive in the hinterland of wherever Congress was held. Rather interestingly, both Colm and Pádraig died on a Good Friday.
He was quiet and unassuming but was very persuasive when called upon to speak. He expressed himself clearly, always having a pithy phrase or apt quotation and got to the heart of the matter very succinctly. He loved poetry and carried his learning lightly.
He made a difference to the lives of so many and you can consider yourselves privileged having had him as a father. Ar dheis Lámh Dé go raibh sé.
Being a Lynch is a great thing because of the family we get to be part of. Sending you all the love and strength you need to cope and words cannot express how much Uncle Colm will be missed. He was the most kind, patient and generous man and I have only wonderful and beautiful memories: the books he wrote and brought copies for us as kids; the interesting conversations we had at any age; and his kindness and ability he had to put anyone at ease. I am proud and lucky to be part of his family. Love you all xxx
Kathleen, words, no matter how kind, cannot mend your heartache. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers right now. Colm will always have a special place in my memories.
Sincere Sympathy to the O Loingsigh family on Colm’s death. A supreme educator and teacher, his advice and mentoring while working with him as a colleague in my early years teaching was much appreciated and valued. He inspired, advised and encouraged so many pupils and teachers over the years. Solas Na bhFlaitheas air.
