I remember when I went to him in DDF for sponsorship of Dubai Irish Society in 2011, and he proudly explained how he helped develop a warehouse system for managing the flow of millions of products.
He was a great man but more importantly he was a kind man.

The magnicent Irish Village in Dubai with its Ballinasloe themed streetscape is a testament to the high regard the rulers of Dubai had for Colm.
When Colm and the small group of Shannon Duty Free ex-pats first played golf in Dubai in 1983, the greens were rolled sand, and they carried their fairway mats with them, as they traversed the sand dunes and played pick and place.
Colm would normally be following Rory McIlroy last week as he played and won, on one of the fantastic modern golf courses of Dubai.
Farewell Colm, a kind, compassionate and loyal man, who never forgot his Shannon and Ballinasloe roots.
A genuine legend who made his mark on Dubai much as his former boss Brendan O'Regan made on the Midwest.
