Dear Lillian, Sharon, Mark, Gary, Jason, Jennifer and Keith,
I am so sorry and sad to hear of Collie's passing. I enjoyed reminiscing with him at Daddy's funeral back in October. He was the Collie I remembered. He'd not changed a bit. Full of life and energy. Quick to point out he got me my first proper job at H. Williams in Rathfarnham back in 1980, on the deli counter. I owe him big time for that work opportunity and the work and life skills I learned from him. Collie was always on the go. I don't think he ever stayed still. His car was constantly whizzing in and out of your driveway. He reminded me at Dad's funeral of how he got Mammy up on the dance floor at my wedding. My poor mam, riddled with arthritis, whisked around the dance floor like a marionette. She was aching for days afterwards and had choice words to say of the experience whenever we or he would remind her of what he did but she still enjoyed the craic of it all and it remains a great memory in the Griffiths house and clearly was one he did not forget either. He may have been a small man but he had a big character and a heart of gold. His vivacity for life, infectious smile, those incredible dancing eyes and his kindness means he will leave a huge void. But his memory will definitely live on. RIP Collie and thank you. Thinking of you all at this sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
