I have such fond memories of Colm through his great friendship with my brother Peter -- especially the craic we all had together at Peter and Itziar's wedding in Pamplona. Dear Fergal, I'm very sorry to read of the very untimely passing of your brother, Colm. My sincere condolences to you and your family on a great loss, and may his soul rest in peace.

To Fergal and family, I'm so sorry to learn of your great loss. Most of us have been very positively influenced by a teacher and it seems from the many other comments that Colm was no exception to this and made such a difference in the lives of others, especially his students. I am sure his legacy will live on. My deepest condolences.

I was very saddened to hear of Colm’s untimely passing.

Colm kindly welcomed my colleagues and I to Ardscoil La Salle over two years ago. Despite a busy school day, he gave us so much of his time, offering valuable advice and sharing his experience. It was clear he loved his work and was deeply passionate about education, his colleagues and his students. It was my only time meeting Colm, but he left a lasting impression on us all.

So sorry to learn of Colm's untimely passing. I came to know Colm through my work with Dublin and Leinster PP Schools' GAA. Colm was always courteous and enthusiastic in any contact we had.

My sincerest condolences to Colms' family. I knew him as Mr Mythen when I attended Ardscoil La Salle. He was a great principal and worked hard to ensure our needs were met and we received the best of education. He will be remembered fondly by many.

Colm always spoke of you with so much joy and pride. He was a wonderful colleague but there can be no doubt that his family was his most treasured achievement.

As a principal, Colm had an open-door policy and made us all feel that our voices were heard. He supported and never criticised, bringing out the best in everyone he met. Even when he was unable to attend school, he continued to help my LCA class, communicating with students by email, with words that will be forever cherished.

I will never forget the part he has played in my professional life; his enduring encouragement and often wicked sense of humour, that enabled him to defuse even the most stressful situations.

He was an absolute gentleman. Always so friendly, welcoming and encouraging. He will be missed by all who knew and worked with him. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

I am so sad to hear of Colm's passing. We did our H. Dip together years ago and he was always such a gentleman, so enthusiastic about being a teacher and always spoke so lovingly about his family. My sincere condolences. May Colm Rest in Peace.

I was shocked to hear of Colm’s passing when I attended the Dublin game at Croke Park and a moments silence was observed in honour.

Colm was such a generous and decent person to interact with as I did on quite a number of occasions at his school. He spoke warmly of my dad who taught him in St. Aidan’s and I was always impressed by his commitment to the students of De La Salle Raheny.
