So sorry to hear that Coleman has passed he was a good friend to my brother Reg Woodrow (Aer Turas) and will always be remembered for his kindness during Reg's illness and his support to his family. May he rest in Peace and have clearance to the runway to heaven.

When I think of Colman on occasions when our paths crossed at the airport I'm trying to remember was there ever a time when he wasn't in good humour - no can't think of one. He was always a pleasure to know.

My sincere condolences to all of the Corcoran family, extended family members, former colleagues and friends on the death of Colman. He was always one of our 'go-to' guys for aviation news, and made sure that 'Runway' magazine was the first to hear about unusual aircraft visitors at Dublin Airport, which led to many 'scoops' for the magazine. Colman always enjoyed a laugh and the banter, and you always left his presence feeling good about life. Keep the runway lights bright for the rest of us, Colman! We all have cause to be grateful for your expertise, timely problem solving and sense of humour even when things got a bit tense with visiting heads of state visits etc. Such a supportive, fun and knowledgeable colleague. I first met Colman at an airshow at Fairyhouse Racecourse in 1980. From that point onwards he has been my aviation expert in The Republic, with so many contacts in the right places to organise visits, airside trips around Dublin Airport, flights in old planes, access to Dublin Airport for my private aircraft – always with a Guinness afterwards at the Rustic Inn, Coachmans or wherever ! His knowledge of Irish aviation, Dublin Airport in particular was second to none, hence the never ending succession of calls to his mobile whenever in his company – always answered in his helpful, jovial manner.
Sadly Parkinsons cut short his well deserved retirement, but he will always be remembered here as ‘Mr. Fixit’ (and ‘Mustard’ by Elaine !) by his many aviation friends this side of the Irish Sea…

Words such as Gentleman and legend are rarely so utterly appropriate but for Colman they aren’t even close to sufficient. I was privileged and honoured to share my time in Aer Rianta/daa with Colman.
