Dear Lily, Jacinta, Damien and Donal, so sad to hear of Colman's passing. What a lovely, sincere gentleman he was. We have such lovely memories of Colman and you all as friends and neighbours in Shannon and will keep those close to our hearts. Are thinking of you all at this difficult time, may he rest in peace.

Very sad and shocked to learn of Colman's passing. He was such a lovely, generous colleague whose ability to communicate was only enhanced by his soft-spoken manner. Our sympathy goes out to all the Garrihy family. Colman and myself consulted together when he headed up the Shannon Development PR Department when I worked for The Irish Press newspaper group and later as a freelance. Colman was always courteous and efficient and a thorough gentleman. I had to watch his funeral online and I could see that he was greatly loved by his family. A man who went about his work quietly with no fuss. May you rest in peace Colman, up in Ennistymon.

Colman was exceptionally helpful to me when I was a journalist new to the Shannon region - ever courteous, kind and reliable. I also encountered him through the NUJ, of which we were both members. His voluntary work for the NUJ was just one of the many ways in which he made life better for other people. RIP Colman

I had the pleasure of knowing Colman from his regular visits to Carrygerry House and I was always met with his kind and humble personality and he often spoke fondly of his family and of his connections to West Clare. I am so sorry to see this, Colman was a very regular visitor to our shop for many years, I would receive a late night text with instructions to have his bits ready for when he came to Ennis.
