Deepest Sympathies to all the Carlow Haydens on the loss of the last member of your Dad's family_ your Uncle Colm.
It sounds like he shared his brother Liam's great wit and sense of humour !!

We Liverpool Haydens have happy memories of Uncle Colm – our dad Kevin’s youngest sibling, as Brigid says – stopping off in Liverpool en route from Carlow to other parts of England on many occasions in our childhood. Later, when he and his family were living in Basingstoke and I was in Southampton, you all made me welcome when I visited (thank you Penny and Martin – we were all a lot younger then!) and you also visited me in Southampton. I also remember, more recently, being with a group of visiting uncles and aunts staying for a few days in Carlow when Colm had been out for the evening with some friends, and when he got in was quizzed by his siblings (Aunty Emby in particular) about where he’d been, who he’d met, what time this was to be coming in at night etc. Being the youngest stays with you for ever!
Sincere sympathies on the passing of Colm. May he rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy to Penny and Martin on the loss of the most gentle of gentlemen. Fond memories of times in Carlow, Cornwall and Chester, with long afternoons of lovely family stories. Difficult to choose a favourite, but the memory of teacher brother Seamus correcting Colm's grammar in red pen on their exchanges of letters probably tops the list!
Colm hosted us in style in Cornwall - both at home and at his favourite local "Inn On The Shore" by the beach in Downderry, helped along with a few glasses of the black stuff. We will miss the exchanges of banter in the Christmas cards, but most of all we will miss this simply lovely man. Rest peacefully back in the homeland Uncle Colm. Brendan and Diane.

Thinking of all of you.

Condolences to Martin and Penny on the sad loss of their dear father.
Uncle Colm lived with his elder brother, Seamus & Patricia, my parents, for a short time in Hull when, as a young man, he first moved over to England to find his feet.
He had a wicked sense of humour, which was evident when he recounted fascinating stories about Carlow and the Hayden siblings earlier life. He was a great orator & descriptive card writer who will be missed. The end of an era. RIP x
