I first met Colum in UCG in the mid 90s and it is a genuine privilege to have remained a friend of his since then. Colum was an amazing guy, wonderful company, kind, generous, loyal and just a lot of fun to be around. I will treasure my many memories of spending time with him, not least from when he visited me in Boston a couple of years ago and added baseball to his long list of sporting interests!

Looking back 8 years ago when Colum interviewed me. I feel so blessed that Colum picked me to be on the LMS team. Colum was kind, caring, thoughtful, incredibly smart and he had a great sense of humour. He cared very much for the team and he helped guide all of us in our careers. I will cherish our memories and all the laughs we had together. Colum's leadership and guidance have left an incredible mark on the LMS team here in Galway and in Budapest. He was not only my manager, he was my friend and I will forever miss him. May he rest in peace.

I first met Colum in 2003 when I joined SAP. He was great craic and part of what made it such a welcoming and pleasant place to work. I have fond memories of our SAP football days and not so fond memories of his crunching tackles!

I’m saddened to hear about the passing of Colum. He and I were in the same year at CBS Ennistymon (Class of 94). Colum was always so full of life and banter, and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, sons, and extended family during this difficult time.

Colum was my manager in SAP for the past 8 years, he was a great mentor and friend always provided support and advise both professionally and personally. The whole team will miss him dearly. From chats about West Hams European success to refereeing the Banter between the Galway and Mayo members of his team come the summer time. Rest in Peace Colum.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Colum as a manager for the past 8 years and something which I probably took for granted.
Colum was always there for every member of his team, offering advice and encouragement on both work and personal issues.
He took an interest in the development and wellbeing of everyone on his team and I have so much to thank him for personally.
As well as being a great manager and mentor he was also just a really nice person to spend time and have a chat with.
