Con was a really decent and wise man. He honoured the Public Service Executive Union with his stalwart activism on behalf of its members, to whose interests he applied his many remarkable qualities. His passing is a sad loss to all who had the good fortune to know him but, of course, the loss to his family is the greatest of all. Condolences and best wishes to them at this sad time.

As a child growing up I probably spent as much time in your house as I did our own. I even recall being to see Con in his work in the Port once and visiting your granddad with ye on the far side of Dublin.
Our families have great connections through school together, both National and Secondary, an Gaeilge, tennis(!), subbuteo, books and biscuits!
