Condolences to my sweet friend Olivia, who has often spoken to me about both her parents and the gentle kindness of her dad, Con. I’m sorry I didn’t meet Con, but from reading messages here, my image of him has expanded. Obviously very thoughtful and understanding of children, and all life, no doubt a real character full of good humour, which I see in Olivia too. in fact, I imagine him to be very like Olivia; A true Blue, open and giving, able to engage in life with a loving and up lifting countenance, seeing the good in people and situations and turning a blind eye on things that may not match the inner shining Godly vision. Inspiring!

I have no doubt that Con’s love and care remains steadfast as a shining golden HUe amongst his loved ones, friends and family. ⭐️✨

When we were in the focus course programme in clonakilty back in 2021/2022, i remember that you spoke very compassionately about him, and his love for the land, and also his tractor 🚜 😀
I also remember you telling me that he used to love chopping Wood 🪵
That generation of people were amazing and phenomenal 🙌
They had an incredible work ethic

When Con smiled his whole face got involved. His eyes scrunched up and his cheeks were enormous and it was wonderful to see. I think it was the best smile I´ve ever seen and probably will ever see. Con had massive hands, a shock of white hair, some baling twine wrapped around the waist instead of a belt and had a distinct walk, almost like a cowboy. As a child I was always fascinated with this man. He was unlike anyone I´d ever met before, a gentle giant. He was an unforgettable character.
And he was like a grandfather to me and to many others.

Con had an amazing gift of making any child feel special, listened to and important.

Getting picked up from Banteer Station from Ann and Con ready to spend The Summer Holidays was a real treat. They opened their home and their hearts to me.

My fondest memories were fitting between the gaps of the milk churns with my siblings and cousins on the way to the creamery. All the kids were laughing and having a great time. Waving to passers by and always enjoying an ice cream at the end. Naming newborn calves and kittens was a great honour too.

Con tied big empty animal feed bags to the back of his tractor with ropes and all the kids would sit on the bags and Con would drag us around the fields.

In short, thank you Con for being who you were. You were an incredible human being. Spending time with you and your wonderful family were some of the best times I´ve ever had.
