Sincere condolences to the family of Conall, much loved and appreciated by the Irish community in Paris, a gentleman of kind manners and good humour who welcomed all into his well run pub on rue Mont Thabor. Spent many happy Sundays there at poetry readings and thanks to Conall's generosity created the Molly Bloom poetry prize. He always called his native Donegal Tir Conall and not Dun na Gall which was a lesson in Irish history which has not been forgotten. May his great soul rest in peace in his beloved Donegal that he never forgot while in Paris.
Sincere condolences to Kevin and the rest of the Carr family. Conall was a very hospitable gentleman and I am reminded of one great night in particular with my late wife, Maeve, at his restaurant in Paris. May he spend the rest of his eternal life at peace in heaven with Almighty God.
Pour que la mort ne soit pas que désolation et point final, l'espoir et le souvenir des bons moments du passé perpétuent a jamais ton nom.

Sincerest sympathy to Conall's family on his passing.
A home exchange in Paris in 1995 was made even more enjoyable by Conall's hospitalality and an invitation to my fiddle player husband to join in a session.
Solas na bhFlaitheas ar a anam uasal agus sólás daoibhse atá á chaoineadh.
Ba chainteoir dúchais Gaeilge í duine den bhfoireann freastail a rinne a gnó go críochnúil linn as Gaeilge nuair a chuala sí muid á labhairt eadrainn féin.

My condolences to Kevin. I remember your Dad came to visit us in NYC in the early 1980’s, possibly 1982 or 1983. He was great fun for us kids. My Dad, (Andy Carr),his first cousin was so delighted to see him and really enjoyed speaking Gaelic again. Many years later, myself and my siblings went to visit him in Paris, different years in the mid to late 1990’s. He was well known and well remembered, may he rest in peace. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord.

Lord rest dear Conall.
During the years we worked together at Bord Fáilte in Paris he was a warm, generous, interesting, popular and entertaining colleague.
Conall brought those same characteristics with him when he opened Carrs, his popular and successful Irish Restaurant and Pub in the centre of Paris.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of my grand uncle Conall. My thoughts are especially with Kevin during this very difficult time. May he rest in peace
RIP Conall. Have fond memories of visiting you in Paris with my Dad and my lovely Granny Maeve (Brennan).
I remember Conall when he came home from Paris to stay in McFadden's of Gortahork in the seventies. A fit athletic man with a ready smile and a warm welcoming presence, he liked to swim in the sea and I can still see him surging through the waves after diving off the pier at the cove in Bunaninver, under the shadow of Bloody Foreland. The Gaelic hospitality of his bar and restaurant in Paris was legendary, and my mother, Bernie Carr (O'Leary), his first cousin, had many good stories about him when he entertained herself and my father Lillis there. I was very fond of him as he always had kind and encouraging words for everyone including myself. He had a great intellectual curiosity and was therefore a wonderful conversationalist and raconteur. He loved the Irish language and appreciated its value especially as an Irishman living among the French. Comhbhrón ó chroí le Caoimhín agus le Nuala. Gura móide teaghlach na Glóire a anam.
