Connie Maguire

It was with deep shock and profound sadness that we learned from a text message from our club secretary Charles McAteer at 7.45am on 13th Sept. of the sad and untimely passing of our great friend and club member Connie Maguire. We talked and debated with him just hours earlier at our club meeting in O'Donnell Park. Little did Connie think (or any of us) that this would be his last club meeting and visit to his beloved O'Donnell Park that he contributed so much development to during his long and distinguished club membership. Sincerest condolence to his wife Ursula, daughters Michelle, Caroline, Joanne and the extended Maguire families. Rest in peace Connie.

This lovely gentleman came to our home many years ago, I was just a child. My mum and dad had won a car, in a draw, having paid their ESB bill off in time. I never forgot his friendly face, even over 30 plus years later, when I seen he had unfortunately passed away. I remembered that kind face and the happiness he brought to our family home at that time. Sincere condolences to all his family, may the rest in peace 😇
