I had the privilege of being Conor's Primary School Principal at the CBS Clounalour Tralee. He was a model student, bouncing with enthusiasm and interest. Everything that he undertook was done to perfection and with a smile. He was a very honest and upright boy and his courtesy and respect was of the highest calibre. As well as his love of schooling and sport he had an excellent singing voice and auditioned successfully for the CBS BOYS CHOIR under Aidan O Carroll. Here too he gave it his all by submitting to a very demanding rehearsal schedule of two nights per week and on Saturday mornings. His late wonderful Mom would occasionally call about his "behaviour". I would tell her that she was wasting her time as there wasn't any need to call. I also have happy memories of his lovely and gentle personality when he and his classmates spent an annual week at the Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre. He took to canoeing and rock climbing like a pro and his forte was orienteering - one glance at the map and he was gone like a bullet with his compass and would invariably locate all stations which enhanced his confidence enormously. I stood in the Church yard this morning with the members of Kerry Hospice as Conor was taken to his place of rest. It was surreal. I cannot believe he is gone. I looked at his heartbroken family, you will miss him most. We will miss his quiet dignity, his devotion to the Hospice cause and his friendship. I will miss his wave in Cockleshell as he flew past.
May the sod rest lightly on you Conor and I pray that the Lord will console your heartbroken family.

Mary, our deepest condolences are with you and all of your family at this heartbreaking time. We were truly blessed knowing Conor. We have never met a human being, nor will we ever that was as thoughtful, kind, patient, always looking out for others and never complained about anything. Meeting him in San Francisco by chance, was one of life’s miracles. When we were able to visit Conor in Ireland, we really couldn’t have ever imagined such a wonderful experience. Meeting you and your husband, having dinner with you, staying there in Kinsale and seeing all its beauty. Everything was just remarkable, thanks to Conor. He will be missed tremendously by myself and my daughter. And we will cherish our memories of him forever. Your family is in my prayers.
