A poem Conor wrote 1981 Newbridge College
NIGHT REFLECTIONS
A naked sky devoured
By autumn clouds
Their quiet serenity
Proclaiming the oncoming blazonry of stars
Unexplored vastness stretching out
Unmolested by modern mechanics.
From a distant radio
An indistinct sound bears forth
The intermittent buzz
Constantly, quietly, through the silent air
I think of the countless millions
The ears of which comprehend this faceless voice
"Does Orion see them too?"
I whisper to myself
into the fading light I wander
To join a sleeping world
Multitudes, unaware of night`s great beauty.

To the Keane Family on the sad passing of Conor.
Conor and I were in the same year in Newbridge College and we were in the lower age grouping for our year. As 12-17 year olds at the time Conor was a quiet and friendly lad but after a growth spurt during the summer holidays (the summer of 1979 I think) one year, he became a massive and formidable winger on the rugby field ! He was so good that our whole team strategy on the Under 14's team (The 'Inters') was 'get the ball to Conor !' and we won quite a few games doing that until he was moved up to the Junior Cup Team squad as he was so good.
Really sorry to hear of his untimely death and my thoughts and prayers go to the Keane family.

I was looking forward to going out for a few beers with Conor and my good friend his brother John the next time he was in Puente la Reina on a visit, as I’ve heard so much about him, and especially after the pleasure of meeting his sister Catherine and brother Mick. Sadly that won’t happen, at least on on this earth, but there’s Guinness and music waiting for you when you get back, John. My condolences to all of you.

I just heard of Conor’s passing and I’d like to offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Conor & I were at school together and we always got on well. The last time we met was by chance, about 15 years ago on the street in Naas. He wasn’t long back from London.
We hadn’t seen each other for at least 15 years before that, but we picked up where we left off easily and had a good chat. We promised we get together again soon, but never did of course.
Conor was a great guy, with a kind heart and always quick to smile. Rest in peace.
