It was with heartfelt sadness that I heard the news of the death of my nephew Conor.

I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife Ann and to his parents and siblings and to all those who feel the pain of his passing.

I listened to Justin's fraternal eulogy and found it very moving and Conor's final mesage to Ann was particularly poignant.

"Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them"

I write as Leonie's Parish Priest in London. I want to send my most profound sympathy to Conor's family for the tragic and sad loss of such a young son, brother, husband. Bereavement touches the deepest elements of our being and remains with us throughout our lives. For those of the Christian faith, we are supported by the thoughts that life is changed not ended. I am offering Mass this morning at the Royal Hospital Chelsea a home for retired soldiers. The Mass will be for Conor and for the eternal repose of his soul. It may be of interest that many of those who attend my Mass there are from Ireland. With my renewed sympathy and prayers, Monsignor Phelim.
