I am so saddened to hear about your dad Cons passing. I almost felt like I knew him with all the stories you used to tell me. I know what a rock in your family he was and how badly he will be missed. Thinking of you all at this difficult time xx G&D

I still can’t believe that Con has had his final debrief , its just not the same anymore at the Frosties, expecting to hear that big hearty laugh and welcoming smile when you head down, and always the question, “What’s the plan today” and before I could answer “You are going to push it today” Con was a gentleman, and indeed was one of the first Frosties that I got to know, over 15 years ago. Con was a constant for us all you could be almost guaranteed he would be there every morning at 9.30 first to get in , always a word for everyone, Condolences to Ollie and family on their huge loss. RIP Con.

Knew Con for close to 15yeara swimming with Frosties. Had a lovely Friday before his passing Waiting on Frosties, looking at the water and how lovely it was. And swam with him to rock and back. He stopped to say hello to everyone. Joked Con knew where the warm waterwas. And when I swim everytime and reach warm water I will always think of Con. Myself and family really felt the Loss. My dad was my mam's whole world...her everything. He was the most vibrant and loving light in all of our lives since the day we entered this world. Our level of pain and suffering is beyond what any of us has ever experienced in life before. 💔 So that is why i want to say thank you, thank you to those who have already posted, but also thank you to anyone thinking of posting a condolence message. We are too raw with feelings of heartache right now, but we all will, in time, be able to read them, and we will also be able to read them out to my mam when she is ready. Thank you for reading this and thank you for thinking of us. ❤️

So sorry to hear about Con's passing. As a part-time Frostie, Con always had a great welcome whenever I was back in Ireland. He never missed the opportunity to talk about goings-on in Donegal. Swimming in Skerries will not be the same without him, though doubtless I will still look for him whenever I swim there.

We got to know Con through the swimming over 15 years ago. His unfailing good humour and friendliness every day at the Springers and the Captains brought many swimmers out of their warm comfort to brave the elements, none ever regretted it ,as they warmed up with tea and biscuits and lots of fun and good cheer. Beneath his friendly disposition there was a steely determination to constantly develop and improve as his success in the international draughts scene and his success in swimming exemplify. The expression of joy that he shows in the photo , having won the cherished Frostie Mile ( of which he was one of the inaugurators) says it all. And beyond that again was the deep bonds of friendship that he forged with so many . He was a rock solid , dependable genuine and true friend , deepening his friendships with each passing year. To know Con was a privilege and we will miss him greatly.
