It's only in the last few days that I heard of his passing.
He was a genlteman, decicated and a valued member of staff of Cork County Council. I am very sorry for your loss.

It was with great shock and sadness to learn of the sad and untimely passing of Connie. We extend our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Connie's Dear Wife Liz and Family and to all the Foley & Swayne Families and extended Families on this Very sad occasion. We were very sorry we couldn't be with you over those tough lonely days but we shared the pain of your huge loss in our thoughts and prayers in those awful times. Got to know Connie during my time in Youghal District Council it was a privilege to work with him and an honour to know Connie, so much we became "Close Friends" in History and Geography in which he had great knowledge. Just a few short weeks past he was on the phone making plans to visit Knockraha "Sing Sing Prison" with Davy Holden National Historian. He was a true friend and the salt of the earth Gentleman. May the sand of Clonpriest Cemetery rest lightly on his Grave. May Connie Rest in Peace.
